6-Day Tour from Tangier to Sahara Desert
Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen – Fes
Our driver will meet you at Tangier’s airport or at your hotel then you drive to the Blue City of Chefchaouen. You’ll investigate Chefchaouen, sometimes known as Chaouen, often known as “the blue City,” is a typical Moroccan town located in the northwest of the country, near the Rif Mountains. It is famous for the beautiful structures in its old town’s many fading blue tones, which give off the impression of a pristine and lovely world. Then, you head to Fes, which is Morocco’s mental center and one of, in case not the, country’s oldest cities. You will first proceed to Fes El Jadid (a part from the fourteenth century), the Jewish neighborhood (Mellah), the synagogue or cemetery, and the renowned royal palace gates. The final stop on your exterior tour is the pottery part, where you can see the craftspeople creating mosaics and tiles. After that, we travel to the Borj Nord for a panoramic view. You will afterwards tour the Fes El Bali (9th century part) of the old medina with your guide. The Quaraouiyine University, the oldest university in the world, one of the great Medersas from the 14th century, the suffering (bronze) the Nejjarine Fountain and Fondouk, the Moulay Idriss II Mausoleum, the Najjarine (Carpenters) Souk, and the part of Fez. After visiting the tanneries (the leather industry), you’ll have lunch in a Moroccan restaurant. You can extend the journey if you’d want to explore the medina further. Overnight at a comfortable riad in the Medina or at a luxury hotel.
Day 2: Fes – Erfoud – Merzouga
The following day of our 12-day Desert Tour from Casablanca, we will travel to Erfoud via the Middle Atlas in your plush, comfortable car. Along the way, you will get to enjoy the stunning scenery of the mountains and chilly rivers. We’ll also stop in Ifran Little Switzerland and Azrou so that you can explore the renowned Cedar Forest and feed the baby monkeys. The little city of Midelt, noted for its unusual rocks, will be our next stop. We’ll arrive to the Kasbah of Erfoud where you will start seeing the desert dunes. Erfoud is the capital of fossils in Morocco. Later, we arrive at Merzouga Desert where we will drink a cup of tea and have the first contact wilth the desert. Overnight at your hotel in the village of Merzouga.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert
Drive through these breathtaking vistas on the outskirts of the Erg Chebbi, Morocco’s biggest sand dune, after breakfast in the hotel. In the middle of nothingness, we shall notice the black tents of the nomads. We would also visit a nomadic family to drink tea and learn about their way of life. After that, we would go to Alkhamliya, a village that hasn’t altered much over the years. Either we have lunch in the village of Alkhamliya, or we return to our accommodation and do so. After a nap, we’ll take a camel ride to see one of the most fascinating sights we’ve ever seen, the spectacular sunset in the middle of the high sand dunes of Merzouga. This time we’ll spend the night at a Berbertented camp in the desert and have an amazing view of the stars.
Day 4: Merzouga – Todgha Gorges – Dades Gorges
We will traverse the entire desert on an exciting, peaceful excursion after our camel guy takes us on a camel ride to witness the lovely dawn. You will like the vista of the deserted camel chain. The tallest and narrowest gorges in Morocco are the Tinghir and Todra Gorges, which we will visit after returning to your hotel for breakfast. prior to getting to Dades Valley, where you’ll spend the night at your hotel and enjoy dinner.
Day 5: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate
After having breakfast at the hotel, we’ll move on to Kalaa Mgouna and Ouarzazate via crossing the Dades Valley. We will pass through thousands of Kasbahs on the route to Dades Valley so we may shoot some great photos. The rich Rose valley, the rock formations along the path, and the Berber Nomads in their caves will all be introduced to us. At “the rose city,” Kalaat M’gouna, we’ll make a halt. We will explore the Kasbah Amridil as we continue our Casablanca desert trips to Skoura and the Birds Valley. We shall then continue on our way to OUARZAZATE.
Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After arriving at the magnificent city of Ouarzazate, which was founded in 1928 and is now home to one of the most significant film studios in the world, we will begin exploring all of the city’s historical and natural features. a cinematic company that produced significant motion pictures and television programs, including the hit shows Game of Thrones, Gladiator, and Babel… The Berber settlement of Telouet is where we will eat lunch before descending the Tizi-n-Tichka to Marrakech. We will arrive in Marrakech where our one week desert tour from Tangier ends.
